Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef for the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spikey blonde locks and pump up appearance, offers easy techniques anyone can be able to master. Chef Burrell had a job at the top New York restaurants and studied Italian cooking traditions as well as the environment. She also competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. After earning an English and Communication degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she started to pursue her passion for the industry of restaurants by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America. She says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America student. I loved every minute of it." I was never able to learn or learn enough. After graduating, Chef Burrell took a gap year to Italy attending Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian way of life and its culture and has made an impact on her own eating habits. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing problems. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador in which she promotes awareness of children with diabetes. In her role as a speaker, Burrell goes on a tour across the United States to promote her love for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne declared that she felt fortunate in that she could share her true passion with the people around her.
