Milena Govich

Milena Govich is an actress director, musician, and actor. She has directed a number of episodes of TV and film, including Chicago Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). She also served as the Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018) and is attached to direct two pilots in development. Milena was selected as one of eight directors in AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. Her short film and TV series proof-of-concept called Unspeakable with Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober has was screened at its World Premiere at SXSW and was awarded the Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. The film she made in the short form Temporary (2017 produced by Milena Vandervoort) has been screened across the nation. It was awarded the title of Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also awarded at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor, Milena has appeared in more than 100 shows of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006), a Dick Wolf series, was her second big role. It culminated in her being the Emmy-winning woman detective in Law & Order (1990). She has also been featured or recurred on numerous other showslike K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and for the role of Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena also appeared in several movies including Sordid Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011), opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She was also in the film with Method Man. Milena was born in Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian in her high-school, but before that, she completed two majors in vocal performance and premed at the University of Central Oklahoma. She also graduated valedictorian. In the following years she benefited from her classical ballet training to appear on Broadway in the production of Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall of "Cabaret" in Studio 54.
