Pollyanna McIntosh

Pollyanna McIntosh was born in Portugal and Colombia, but she returned to Scotland when she began her career on the stage at The Edinburgh Festival. She relocated to London when she was 16 and immediately started to become involved in indie filmmaking. Her first paid gig was as a stoner on Irvine Welsh's The Acid House (1998). Also, she was an actress and a director in the theatre. Moving to Los Angeles in 2004 led to more theatre. She directed Anne Dudek (a regular star on Mad Men/Big Love (2006)) as and David Dayan Fisher (a regular character on 24 (2001/NCIS 2003)) to praises of awe. Her first US film role was "Stacy" who was a manipulative woman who was a born again Christian and born again Christian, in Headspace (2005). It was in the role of crazy "Thumper Wint" in the comedy Sex and Death 101 (2007) (Simon Baker and Winona Ryder) directed from Heathers (1988) writer Daniel Waters, that the reviewers began to be aware of her talent, citing an unbeatable blend of strong sexuality and hilarious humor. She was a part of both LA as well as London, Exam (2009) was the next film, which was nominated for BAFTA as Outstanding British Debut and winner of Best Independent at the Santa Barbara Film Fest, the reviewers noted that Pollyanna's performance was "smart, sassy and sexy equally ....the emotional heart of the movie" praised her capacity to uncover the "emotional vulnerability" of her seemingly strong and confident character. GQ stated that Pollyanna McIntosh, who is a phenomenal actress who is "extremely skilled". Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like it! She plays the role of Trevor Lock, a disgruntled Brit comedian. Shot in Peru and she is Spanish throughout. John Landis directs Burke and Hare (2010). She plays Isla Fisher's bestie , along with Andy Serkis and Jessica Hynes and Tom Wilkinson. Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011) was an absolute success. The film received rave reviews and also topped the New York Times readers' most viewed films. She received three Best Actress nominations, including Total Film’s Frightfest Award as well as Fright Meter’s.
