Thora Birch

Thora Birch, born March 11, 1982, is an American actress. In 1988 she made her feature film debut in the film Purple People Eater. For the performance, she was awarded an Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress under nine years of age". Birch became a star as when she was a child actor, appearing in films such as All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated to receive a BAFTA nomination. The following year, she was a part-time actress in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Birch was also nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in Homeless to Harvard The Liz Murray Story in 2003. Her other films include Dungeons & Dragons (2000), The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006), Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009) and Petunia (2012).After having off from acting, Birch returned to her acting career in the year 2016 and since then has appeared in numerous independent films. Birch played the role of Whisperer Mary/Gamma in season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch, whose family originally was named Biersch is German-Jewish and Scandinavian. She also is French-Canadian French-Canadian and Italian heritage. [6] Her name, Thora comes from the Norse god of lightning and thunder "Thor", which would have been her name, had she been a boy. She has a younger brother, Kian Bolt Birch.Birch's parents are both former film actors, both of whom played in the movie Deep Throat. They were not keen to support Thora due to their past experience in the entertainment business. But, the babysitter noticed Thora imitating commercials and convinced them to display Thora's image to agents. Her first break came at the age of four, after her babysitter brought her along to an audition for an Quaker Oats commercial.
