Mary-Louise Parker

Mary-Louise Parker was born August 2nd in 1964. She is an American actress. Following her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she was awarded an Tony Award nomination), Parker came to prominence for roles in films such as Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996), and The Maker (1997). Parker was awarded the 2001 Tony Award as Best Actress in an independent film for her performance in David Auburn's Proof of Catherine Llewellyn. In the NBC TV series The West Wing she starred as Amy Gardner, and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sustained actress in the Drama Series. As part of her performance as Harper Pitt in the HBO miniseries Angels in America, she was awarded a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. She also won an award for her performance in the series, a Primetime Emmy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. In 2006, Parker was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama. In 2007, Parker was nominated for three times for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She also was awarded the Golden Globe Award in 2006 for Best Actress in Red (2010) and R. (2013), and Red 2 (2012). Parker returned to Broadway in the year 2019 to play in The Sound Inside, for which she was awarded her second Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. Since 2007, Parker has contributed articles to Esquire magazine and published her memoir Dear Mr. You, in 2015. She starred in the ABC miniseries, When We Rise, as Roma Guy. In 2018, she served as an advisor to the political on Billions the show, a Showtime show.
