2 Chainz Biography

Tauheed Epps, better known as his professional name 2 Chainz, is a popular American hip hop and rapper artist. Georgia native, he founded the hip hop duo Playaz Circle together with a high-school friend. Their first album, titled Supply and Demand' was a moderate success. Epps followed that with 'Based on an T.R.U. Story', his debut studio album. It became a massive success, debuting at the top of the charts at 1 on the US Billboard 200. It sold 147,000 copies within the first week! Ever since the success of this album, there's been no looking back for him and he rose to be one of the finest rappers in the US. He has been inducted for six Grammy awards, and has been awarded one for his hit track "No Problem". He kindled controversy in 2013 when being detained in a departing flight at the Los Angeles International Airport as his bag included promethazine and marijuana. However, his run-in with the law hasn't impacted his popularity. The fourth and most recent studio album entitled "Pretty Girls Like Trap Music" was released in June 2017. "Based on an R.U. Story', 2 Chainz's debut studio album can be considered as his first major project and his biggest success. The album reached the top spot on the US Billboard 200. It also sold 147,000 copies within a single week. It sold 623,000 copies over the period of the year. The album featured hit singles such as 'No Lie The Birthday Song', 'No Lie and I'm Different. It was also nominated to win  the 'Best Rap Album' award at the 55th Grammy Awards. The majority of reviews were not favorable. 2 Chainz wed Kesha Ward in 2013. The couple have three kids, Heaven, Harmony, and Halo. Despite having a successful career, he is also notorious for his brushes with the law. He has been detained numerous times for drug possession.
